Advisory for Indian nationals to avoid spoofed calls from fraudsters

Of late, some reports have been received wherein fraudsters are duping Indian nationals residing/visiting abroad by impersonating as officers of Indian Missions/Posts abroad, and also by spoofing the numbers of our diplomatic facilities.

All Indian nationals residing in Slovakia are hereby advised not to share their personal details with any caller, without verifying the authenticity of phone number.

If any Indian national receives such call, he/she is requested to bring this matter to the notice of this Embassy by providing following information:-

1. Name with Passport details of complainant
2. Current country of work
3. The phone number from which the call received and date on which received
4. The phone number on which call received
5. Money transfer details, if any [Give details of both i.e. Sender & Recipient’s Bank Account or Western Union (account number, transaction ID), Branch, Location and date of transaction]
6. Name of final recipient of money as provided by Bank/Western Union
7. Place (Country/District) where money was finally withdrawn/collected
8. Any other remarks
